IN SITU is a collaborative film and performance project created by Iván Gabaldón together with Galia Eibenschutz, Roselys Oropeza, and Daniel García, with original music by Natalia Pérez Turner. Developed in a former industrial warehouse in Mérida, Yucatán, the project emerges from the intersection of its creators’ diverse practices and research, drawing on repetition as a creative tool, the exploration of space, and collective dialogue. IN SITU explores the contradiction of a humanity whose extraordinary creative power has failed to prevent its own destruction. This 11-minute audiovisual work was recently presented as an immersive video installation with 12.1 Dolby Atmos sound at La Tallera in Cuernavaca, from May to September 2026, curated by Paola Santos Coy. The work is scheduled to screen on a continuous loop as part of the Bienal Yucatán’s off-program at the Sala Mayamax of the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya in Mérida on November 18, 2026.
